WHEN DOES THE GROUP MEET?
General Meetings are the 4th Wednesday of every month and the
Tuesday preceding the 4th Wednesday. The Early Session begins at 6pm.
WHAT ARE SUB-GROUP MEETINGS?
GSREIA currently offers 10 sub-groups or focus groups that meet to discuss specific topics on a regular basis. For more details, Click Here!
We also meet the Saturday following the General Meeting, unless we have a national speaker, who is offering a special training session.
WHERE ARE THE MEETINGS AND EVENTS HELD?
General Meetings are held at the Sheraton Hotel in Iselin, NJ on
Tuesday and at the Sheraton Hotel in Newark, NJ on Wednesday.
Sub-Groups are held at the GSREIA Headquarters in Maplewood, NJ.
IS THERE A FEE TO ATTEND AS A GUEST?
All guests must pay $25 dollars at the door to cover expenses at the facility for the meeting/event they attend. The $25 dollars will be credited to the membership fee, if you join at that meeting/event. Sort of a test drive program.
WHAT ARE THE MEMBERSHIP FEES?
Individual Membership: $145.00, Married Couples and Business Partners Membership: $200.00, Vendor Membership starts at $500.00. All memberships are annual. Join Here!
IF I AM UNCERTAIN THAT I WANT TO JOIN NOW,
MAY I PAY $25 DOLLARS EACH VISIT?
We would like to allow people to do that, however we often have meetings/events that are very well attended. We must make sure we have enough seating for all of our members. So, if you are a repeat guest, you may not be admitted to all meetings/events.
HOW CAN I OBTAIN AN APPLICATION TO JOIN?
We offer several options for those interested in joining GSREIA:

WHY IS THERE AN APPLICATION PROCESS?
GSREIA is a membership-based organization, which is governed by a panel of Board Members. Although your application is received with proper payment, it still must be reviewed and approved by the Board. GSREIA will promptly return the membership fee, in the rare case that an application is rejected.
CAN A MEMBERSHIP BE REVOKED?
GSREIA reserves the right to terminate any members’ membership, if the Board becomes aware or determines the actions or activities of the person are unethical or has an adverse impact on the association or its members. It is not the policy of GSREIA to refund memberships that have been revoked, in this instance.
WILL I GET JUNK MAIL FROM GSREIA?
We send out a monthly newsletter to all of our members with events and articles of interest. GSREIA does not sell its member list, nor allow its members to use this information for solicitation.
HOW DO I KNOW IF A MEETING IS CANCELLED?
If you call the Event Information Hotline at 732-942-9458, you can find out about the week’s meetings/events or if an event has been cancelled. This is a recorded message, so do not leave a message expecting a return call.
WHAT IS THE ATTIRE FOR THE MEETINGS/EVENTS?
All of our meetings/events are “come as you are.” An exception applies to the Holiday Party.
DOES GSREIA ENDORSE ANY SPEAKERS?
GSREIA does not endorse any speaker. We only invite speakers that (to our knowledge) have a good reputation in the industry. We do investigate potential speakers before allowing them to speak to our membership. If a speaker is known to be potentially problematic, we will not utilize him/her.
WILL GSREIA TELL ME IF THIS IS A GOOD DEAL OR NOT?
As with most things, we do have a disclaimer. GSREIA, its board, its speakers (even if they are CPA’s or lawyers) are not in the business of giving legal or tax advice. If you feel you need this type of assistance, we encourage you to seek the services of such a qualified professional.
WHAT IF I BUY SOMETHING AND THE SPEAKER
FAILS TO DELIVER WHAT WAS PROMISED?
Although this has hardly ever been an issue, one of the functions of the association is to follow up on any complaints about speakers, should they come up.
WILL GSREIA HELP ME BUY OR SELL MY HOME?
GSREIA is only an educational and networking forum. We as an organization, do not get involved in that type of activity. We are not a realtors’ office. Many of our members are realtors and can help you in that regards.
If you choose to partner or do a deal with any member of GSREIA, as a result of your networking, we advise you to make your do-diligence in evaluating the transaction and obtain the professional assistance you feel you may need to help you in the process.
CAN A BUSINESS OBTAIN MEMBERSHIP?
GSREIA does have a vendor member program, which is for those who have services to offer to the membership. We also provide you a number of ways to speak with our members. You will need to see the Vendor Member Coordinator for details at a General Meeting. Please, remember that we are a small community and bad news travels faster that good news.
HOW DO I KNOW THIS GROUP IS LEGITIMATE?

WHAT IS THE NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION?
New Member Orientation is an event that the GSREIA Board and volunteers offer to help new members get started. It is a full day event. You will learn about the benefits offered by the association and how you can best use it in your real estate investment business. During the orientation, the Board, volunteers and experienced members present various aspects of real estate investment, including lease options, rehabbing, financing, asset protection, estate planning and much more. This is to give you a brief overview of what is available. Each attendee is provided a new member binder, which includes information and forms.
MUST I ATTEND THE ORIENTATION TO RECEIVE THE BINDER?
Yes, you must attend the orientation to obtain the binder. There is so much explained, you would do yourself a disservice by not attending.
I AM NEW TO THE ASSOCIATION AND REAL ESTATE INVESTING.
WILL I BE ASSIGNED A MENTOR?
That is not the function of GSREIA. We are an educational and networking forum. However, several of our vendors and members offer mentoring and coaching services for investors.
These are just a few questions that have come up. I am sure many more will. Feel free to come to any of the meetings/events and ask any member or Board Member for assistance. We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting/event.
